03/10/03 - PHOENIX -- HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports' Liquidmetal Instinct received top honors from Tennis Magazine's editorial team in the April issue, currently on stands. This is the second Liquidmetal racquet to be awarded the "Editor's Choice" seal the Liquidmetal 4 received the accolade in the September 2003 issue.

"As one of the most influential tennis publications in the country, consumers rely on Tennis Magazine's expertise," said Greg Mason, Director of Marketing and Pro/Specialty Sales for HEAD/Penn. "The 'Editor's Choice' seal reinforces HEAD as a leading innovative racquet company that continues to develop product that enhances the game."

The magazine quotes one player as saying, "It's as if the racquet [the Liquidmetal Instinct] puts a charge into the ball." This feeling of stability is due to the Liquidmetal alloy, located in four strategic areas of the racquet head, which does not deform upon impact. Liquidmetal racquets, now the world's best-selling new tennis technology, were first introduced in June 2003 and have increased in popularity since their debut. More than twenty of the top 100 ATP players switched to Liquidmetal racquets including Andre Agassi, Marat Safin and Gustavo Kuerten, plus WTA player Anastasia Myskina who is currently ranked number five on tour.

HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports is a division of HEAD NV which owns such premier sporting goods brands as HEAD (tennis, racquetball, and squash racquets; alpine skis and boots; snowboards, bindings and boots; athletic and outdoor footwear; accessories and apparel), Penn (tennis balls and racquetball balls), Tyrolia (ski bindings), Mares and Dacor (both scuba diving equipment).

HEAD, manufacturer of the world's best-selling new tennis technology Liquidmetal, is the #1 selling tennis racquet brand in Europe and #2 worldwide. Penn is the only tennis ball manufactured in the USA and holds the status of America's #1 selling tennis ball and the World's #1 selling racquetball. Penn is the official ball of the Tennis Masters Series and other major international tournaments.
