08/24/04 - Established in 1914, in Chicago, Wilson Sporting Goods continues to show its commitment to enhancing the tennis experience for consumers – while celebrating its 90th Anniversary – at this year’s US Open.
Wilson has worked with the USTA to completely renovate its on site store design and impact for fans this year at the US Open. “Our focus is on impacting the fan experience with Wilson - at the Open,” said Jon Muir, Director of U.S. Marketing & Promotions for Wilson Racquet Sports.
With a new floor design that could double as the newest tennis court on site at the Open this year, the Wilson store also features more interactive displays and visual elements that showcase their newest nCode racket technology for fans. Add this to enhanced player graphics inside and outside of the store, a broader range of T-Shirts, hats, and tennis related apparel choices combined with a brand new jumbo ball cage display for fans.
In celebration of their 90th Anniversary, Wilson is also releasing a commemorative poster. The poster features many of Wilson’s top players from the past and present including Jack Kramer, Venus & Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Pete Sampras, Justine Henin-Hardenne, and Stefan Edberg, amongst other tennis legends. The poster has also been integrated as a larger image for fans to see - within the Wilson store - at the Open.
Before the US Open takes center stage, The Bryan Brothers band will be amongst many notables taking center stage at Wilson’s “nCode White” private party on Saturday, August 28 at the W Hotel in New York. By invitation only, guests include Wilson dealers, VIP’s, industry partners, various celebrities who are fans of tennis, and of course many of Wilson’s marquee players.
From the tennis balls on the court to the rackets in the hands of the world's greatest players, Wilson's presence at the US Open is everywhere. For over 25 years Wilson has served as the Official Ball of the US Open.
