12/08/04 - The U.S. Tennis Court & Track Builders Association (USTC&TBA), the national organization for builders and suppliers of materials for tennis courts, running tracks, infilled turf fields and indoor and outdoor synthetic sports surfaces has announced that it has changed its name and address effective immediately. The new name will be the American Sports Builders Association, or ASBA, as it will be known by its acronym. The Association will be located at 7010 W. Highway 71, Suite 340, PMB #312, Austin, TX 78735-8331. The new phone number will be 866-501-ASBA (2722) and the new website will be www.sportsbuilders.org. You can contact ASBA electronically at info@sportsbuilders.org.

According to its new leadership, the change of names reflects a broadening of the Association’s interests and the growing diversity found throughout the sports facility construction industry. The new logo, which includes a stylized representation of a tennis ball and track, reflects the growth of the group and its dynamic membership.

“Our Association recently celebrated its 40th anniversary,” says David Marsden, CTCB, Chairman. “Over those 40 years, we have seen a lot of changes - not just in terms of technology, but in terms of the kinds of sports people were participating in. That, in turn, has made a difference in the kind of members who have joined our group.”

The ASBA is a non-profit association helping designers, builders, owners, operators and end users understand quality construction. The ASBA sponsors informative meetings, publishes newsletters, books and technical guidelines, and keeps its members abreast of the latest developments in the industry. Available at no charge is a listing of all publications offered by the Association, as well as the ASBA’s Membership Directory, containing information on all active members. For additional information on the ASBA, its publications, activities and upcoming meetings, please contact the Association at its new location.
