07/28/04 - Hilton Head Island, SC -- Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced the publication of its eighth supplement, Teaching Advanced Net Play, a guide for tennis teachers and coaches available through a cooperative partnership with Tennis Coaches Australia. This publication, the second in a series of three, provides the tennis instructor with the special knowledge required to instruct advanced players at the net. Teaching Advanced Groundstrokes was published last year; Teaching Advanced Serves will debut in 2005.

The 48-page guide, authored by University of Western Australia professors Bruce Elliott and Michael Christmass, offers written instructional techniques, diagramed practice drills and illustrative photographs. PTR members will receive a complimentary copy of the supplement upon timely renewal of their 2005 membership. It is also available to the general public for a nominal fee. Teaching Advanced Net Play and Teaching Advanced Groundstrokes can be purchased for $5.00 each plus shipping by contacting PTR International Headquarters at 800-421-6289.
