10/09/04 - A September episode of The Apprentice on NBC turned to the tennis world when the winning “Mosaic” team won the chance to play tennis with stars John McEnroe and Anna Kournikova at Arthur Ashe Stadium. In order to properly take on the tennis greats, each winning Apprentice team member was equipped with the brand new Wilson nCode racquet.
Each aspiring Apprentice tested their NsixOne Tour – the same nCode model used by Wimbledon & U.S. Open Champion Roger Federer - by hitting with McEnroe & Kounikova before one Apprentice extended an invitation to Kournikova for a coffee date. The playful exchange resulted in his attempt to return one of Kournikova’s five serves. After predictably failing the task, he paid the price of his loss by jogging around the stadium in his boxers. Taking full advantage of nCode technology, his teammates then launched balls into the stands in his direction.
An estimated weekly audience of 12 million tunes into The Apprentice each week. The new Wilson nCode is available at local tennis retailers.
