TIA launches TENNISWIRE.org to provide the media with one source for Industry News

09/07/04 - Today's launch of TENNISWIRE.org marks the first online searchable database of tennis industry information for the media and consumers. The site, spearheaded by the Tennis Industry Association (TIA), publishes the latest press releases from TIA member companies such as Wilson Sporting Goods, HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports, Prince Tennis, the USTA, ATP, WTA and others.
“This is an exciting service. Now, the media can come to one source to find the latest news from all parts of our industry. It will even have an archive of past releases. For the Industry, this is a sure way to expose their stories to hundreds of tennis writers throughout the USA.” says Jim Baugh, President of the TIA.
The site provides a single source of information on product launches, staff changes and industry initiatives, organized by date, company and category of business.
Dave Haggerty of Head/Penn quickly sees the value. “TennisWire.org is great! When we launch a new product or a new campaign, we know we have to post on TennisWire.org. The editor of TennisWire.org is Liza Horan, whose 14 years in the tennis business includes work at Tennis USTA magazine and Racquet Sports Industry magazine. Horan is currently Director of TENNIS.com, President of the U.S. Tennis Writers Association, and serves on the USTA/Eastern Sport Science Committee.
