04/13/05 - Gamma Sports, makers of the number one rated string product line in tennis, announced their signing of WTA pros Vera Zvonareva and Jessica Kirkland to the Gamma String Team. Zvonareva, ranked 10th for singles and 7th for doubles in the world is playing with Zo Sweet. Zvonareva began playing with the Gamma string at the Australian Open and has since rocked the WTA Rankings with a win at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championship in Memphis, and a quarterfinals showing at the Bausch and Lomb Championship in Amelia Island. Kirkland, a 17 year old American, is using Prodigy, Gamma’s newest string featuring the patented TNT2 processing. She is proving to be the next young American star on the WTA Tour, raising herself over 100 players in the past year to her current ranking. Zvonareva and Kirkland will be wrapping their Fischer racquets with Gamma Supreme Overgrip and accessorizing with other Gamma products.

All members of the Gamma String Team will have a red dot on their strings, the new symbol for Gamma High Performance Strings. Gamma is in continued negotiation with players to grow the Gamma String Team. “The quality and reliability that Gamma is known for is important to players like Zvonareva and Kirkland,” said Matt Ferrari, President of Gamma Sports. “Look for the Gamma Red Dot on their racquets at the next WTA event.”

Featured Products
Gamma Zo Sweet String - a hybrid combination featuring 17 gauge Zo Power monofilament main string and 17 gauge TNT2 cross string, providing a softer feel for greater power and comfort without sacrificing control.

Gamma Prodigy String - a high energy coaxial construction that is processed using the patented TNT2 process. The combination produces a superior string that matches the resiliency and elasticity of the finest multifilament strings, yet maintains tension longer.

Gamma Supreme Overgrip – the perfect balance of tackiness and absorbency. Soft, yet durable enough to stand up to many hours of play.
