02/02/05 - To help launch our industry’s new national program, Michele Krause, a teaching professional and with a strong fitness background, has been chosen from a list of over 100 candidates as the Cardio Tennis Business Manager.

Jim Baugh, TIA President, saw the characteristics in Michele which quickly made his decision easier. “We had a ton of good candidates. But I loved Michele’s passion for Cardio Tennis, tennis and fitness overall. She is a successful teaching professional and club operator, in top physical condition, knows the fitness world, and has the sales and marketing skills I was looking for.”

Michele has been the Director of Tennis at the Punta Gorda Club for Tennis and Fitness working for long time tennis veteran, Ted Murray. She helped develop a state of the art new tennis and fitness facility from groundbreaking to completion including the design and layout. Michele has been dedicated to fitness and strength training for over 5 years. Her passion for fitness training led her to figure competition, a professional sports discipline. Figure responds to the demand for fitness competition without the need to perform a routine. In figure competition the emphasis is placed on aesthetics-beauty combined with an athletic physique. Michele has also worked for Club Med. She also has a very successful tennis aerobic and fitness program similar to Cardio Tennis. She has attracted many of the fitness participants to now participate in tennis through her program.

Michele is extremely excited about this opportunity. “Cardio Tennis is a huge idea. From the moment I heard about this job, I knew it was what I wanted to do. We have to launch this program right. We need quality programs throughout the USA all giving the consumer a new fun, fitness activity. We can grow tennis participation and businesses for our pros and facilities at the same time.”

Initially, Michele will travel to tennis conventions and meetings to help roll out Cardio Tennis. She will also be looking at ways to update the program through our pros and facilities. “I know from experience that the program needs new fresh ideas. There are 100’s of drills pros will be able to run and this list will keep growing as we get more ideas from the field”.
