01/18/05 - [CHICAGO]—Serena and Venus Williams, both hungry for a title at the 2005 Australian Open, are hitting the court armed with new rackets featuring Wilson’s exclusive nCode technology. It’s the top-selling racket technology in the world and as part of their own play testing process, the Williams sisters are ready to “unlock their potential” at the Australian Open.
The Williams sisters have been testing the new nCode rackets since their debut last summer and are committed to switching to the new technology as they move into their 2005 playing schedules. Serena seems particularly interested in a new nCode model that features the explosive combination of Wilson’s nCode and Triad technologies. Venus is also excited about play testing a new nCode model, which is due out in summer 2005.
“Serena and Venus have been excited and supportive of Wilson’s nCode technology from the beginning,” Brian Dillman, Vice President of Global Marketing for Wilson, said. “They love the performance of their new nCode rackets and are comfortable, confident and eager to use them during the Australian Open.”
Defending champion Roger Federer is among one of the 55+ top ATP and WTA Tour players now using Wilson’s nCode rackets. Federer switched to Wilson’s nCode technology last year and captured the 2004 Wimbledon and US Open titles as well as the season ending ATP Master’s Cup.
Wilson’s nCode rackets feature an exclusive nano-technology process in which nano-sized silicon dioxide crystals permeate the voids between carbon fiber reinforcing the molecular structure of the frame. The nCode technology offers increased strength and playability and has been Wilson’s most comprehensive racket launch in years.
