06/07/05 - [CHICAGO]— Wilson athletes took center court at the Roland Garros in Paris this weekend, with Justine Henin-Hardenne winning the women’s title, and Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi capturing the men’s doubles crown. The players all used rackets from Wilson’s exclusive nCode line, which is rated the best racket frame technology on the market*.
With Henin-Hardenne’s second French Open win, she jumped to a No. 7 ranking capturing her first major win since returning from illness and a knee injury. Henin-Hardenne plays with the nTour, one of the latest nCode rackets on the market, featuring Wilson’s patented nanotechnology process that enhances strength, stability and power. Bjorkman and Mirnyi defeated the Bryan Brothers in an all-Wilson nCoded men’s doubles final. Bjorkman and Mirnyi both use the nSix-One 95, currently the hottest selling racket**, while the Bryan Brothers play with Wilson’s nPro Surge.
“nCode racket technology has made a great impact on Wilson players and their performance on the court,” said Brian Dillman, Vice President of Global Marketing for Wilson Racquet Sports. “Wilson players have captured five grand slam victories with nCode rackets and this weekend’s results add to the ability of nanotechnology to deliver unmatched stability, strength and power.”
Other Wilson athletes who fared well at the French Open included top ranked Roger Federer and Lindsay Davenport, both reaching the semifinals. Federer, who plays with the nSix-One Tour, and Davenport, who uses the nTour, retained their No. 1 ATP and WTA rankings.
Wilson’s nCode rackets feature an exclusive nanotechnology process in which nano-sized silicon dioxide crystals permeate the voids between carbon fibers reinforcing the molecular structure of the frame. The nCode technology offers increased strength and playability and has been Wilson’s most comprehensive racket launch in years.
