06/28/05 - [CHICAGO]— Wilson Racquet Sports is debuting a new line of Tour bags this week at Wimbledon, which features an updated look and new technology to better protect players’ equipment. The Tour line, which is used on Tour by more players than any other bag*, hits stores this month.
The new Tour line features the classic Wilson red with additional touches of black and white incorporated into the design. The new Tour bag will be seen in the hands of recent French Open women’s title winner Justine Henin-Hardenne, Roger Federer, Lindsay Davenport, Venus Williams and more. All ATP and WTA Wilson touring professionals will be upgraded to the new version.
Technical features of the Tour bag include Wilson’s patented Thermoguard®, which insulates the bag protecting rackets from extreme heat, and Moisture Guard™, which keeps equipment safe from damaging moisture. Bags feature no-slip shoulder straps, padded carry handles, a variety of compartments including a shoe and wet pocket compartment, and white fabric is treated with Dupont Stainguard.
“The new Tour line demonstrates Wilson’s commitment to high-performance equipment,” said Jon Muir, Director of U.S. Sales & Marketing for Wilson Racquet Sports. “With the Tour line players can be confident their equipment is safe from the elements, and the new design is a fresh take on our classic Wilson Red that has been seen on Tour for decades.”
The Tour line is available in several different models including the Pro ($79.99), Super Six ($74.99), Six Pack (MSRP $59.99), Court ($49.99), Triple ($39.99) and Backpack ($39.99).
