09/19/05 - This summer, Prince Sports joins the fight against breast cancer with the introduction of their latest limited edition line of racquets, string and gear, Think Pink.
In February, Prince launched the Lightning XX Pink String in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This summer, Prince continues to show its commitment to the fight against breast cancer with the release of their Think Pink line which includes the O3 Pink racquet, Pink Micro Tac OverGrip, Pink Handbag, Think Pink Dampening Jar and the Prince logo Visor. According to fashion experts, pink is the new black, so players will be supporting a great cause while being fashionably updated.
From February 2005 to February 2006, Prince Tennis, an industry leader in innovation and technology, will donate 15% of the wholesale price for each Lightning XX Pink string package and 5% of all other Think Pink items sold to retailers to the Komen Foundation to help fund research grants, educational support, as well as screening and treatment projects in communities around the world. In addition to Think Pink items, Prince will be auctioning off an O3 in the City poster signed by their top touring pros with proceeds benefiting the Komen Foundation.
“The Komen Foundation has been instrumental in increasing awareness of the disease,” said Linda Glassel Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Prince. “Prince is proud to be associated with the foundation and our Think Pink products are a fun way to accessorize on the court, and remind women of the seriousness of early detection.”
Think Pink
The limited edition O3 Pink is the fifth member of the new O3 engineered family of racquets from Prince. These new racquets provide something never before thought possible in a tennis racquet, a large sweet spot in a maneuverable and aerodynamic frame. The sweet spot is expanded by up to 54 percent, turning it into a Sweet Zone, allowing the player to hit their best shots more often. O3 Pink is perfect for players who are looking for maximum power, and who have shorter, slower strokes.
The Pink Lightning XX string is a perfect compliment to the O3 Pink. With its spring loaded powerfoilTM, its explosive energy is released on impact for greater power. For added grip comfort, the Pink MicroTac Overgrip provides a cushioned overgrip for a soft, tacky feel. To limit shock and reduce vibration, Prince introduces the Think Pink Dampener Jar with 60 easy to install dampeners. And to complete the look, the Think Pink stylish Handbag and the Prince Pink Visor make a fashionable yet important statement both on and off the court.
