08/16/06 - Costa Mesa, Cal.--Bälle de Mätch announces it has designed a line of apparel for Cardio Tennis, the year-old training program that turns tennis into a higher intensity aerobic workout. Bälle de Mätch clothing specifically suited for Cardio Tennis classes will be available late Fall 2006.

Cardio Tennis, a workout that focuses on elevating the heart rate while improving tennis skills, combines drills, rallies and volleys with heart-pumping movement for half hour or one hour classes taught by a tennis professional. More engaging than working out on a machine, Cardio Tennis delivers short cycles of high intensity workouts and periods of rest similar to interval training. Classes fit 6-8 people of varying ability on a court at one time who enjoy playing tennis while getting their heart rate in the target aerobic zone, which is so beneficial for overall health.

“Cardio Tennis is drawing tennis players out of the gym and onto the court for their workouts,” said John Embree, Bälle de Mätch co-owner and partner. “This is a great program for skilled players, beginners, or anyone just wanting a new way to get in shape and challenge the body. We are proud to be associated with this concept that makes tennis more appealing to a wider range of fitness enthusiasts.

“With the ability to attract a new generation of people who want to get fit with a re-energized workout, as well as bring back the life-long players who have left the game looking for a better workout, Cardio Tennis can offer people a lifetime of fun, heart-healthy workouts.”

Jim Baugh, President of the Tennis Industry Association, is thrilled to see Bälle de Mätch get behind Cardio Tennis. “Bälle de Mätch will be the first to offer a men’s line of tennis apparel designed for Cardio Tennis. It is great that they see the growth potential of this new program and want to help promote Cardio Tennis even further.”

Denise Austin, one of the most prominent and popular fitness experts in America with fitness shows on Lifetime Television Network, is the spokesperson for Cardio Tennis. Austin has sold over 20 million videos and is the author of seven books. Her training regiments and teachings have helped Americans stay in shape and she is a strong proponent of the workout and its results.

Bälle de Mätch dealers can order Cardio Tennis apparel from the Team catalog now for Fall delivery.
Currently more than 1300 tennis centers around the country offer Cardio Tennis. Visit cardiotennis.com for more information and to find a location near you that is offering classes.
