TIA Reports Cardio Tennis' First Year as Successful

01/02/06 - The Tennis Industry Association (TIA) announced in a year-end report that the launch of Cardio Tennis was successful. The report notes that "2005 results were extremely positive and we are extremely optimistic about the future of Cardio Tennis." Here are the highlights:

We are approaching 1000 USA sites with a goal to add 500 more quality sites in 2006.

Cardio Tennis sites are in existence in over 20 countries throughout the world.

Over 900 pros attended our 4 ½ hour Cardio Tennis Workshops
o We will have at least 25 more Workshops in 2006 with a special focuses on beginners in Cardio Tennis…and for advanced players

Over 30 new drills are being added to our Partners.CardioTennis.com website.

Over 250 Cardio Tennis sites recently filled out a 50 question survey and the results are very positive:
o Player turnout was very positive as programs that were in existence at least 3 months doubled their participation levels
o Over 90% of the sites will continue with Cardio Tennis
o Over 60% will expand their program in 2006
o Revenues at participating facilities have increased by 10% as a result of Cardio Tennis

In recently completed consumer research, participants love Cardio Tennis:
o 60% say Cardio Tennis is a better workout than their normal routine; 26% say it is about the same
o 85% say Cardio Tennis is more fun than their normal fitness activity; 15% say Cardio Tennis is the same
o 92% say they will continue in Cardio Tennis

CardioTennis.com website hits increased every month since September with over 400,000 visitors in 4 months.
We will have on court demonstrations at over 20 conventions in 2006.

The USPTA will feature a new Cardio Tennis promotion, the USPTA National Cardio Tennis Feeding Shootout
o USPTA Division contests winners will compete in Las Vegas to honor the “top feeder in the country.”

The USTA has made another strong financial commitment for 2006.

Our 2006 consumer marketing plans are being finalized now and will include:
o Increased advertising and promotion
o Increased visibility on TV
o Increased visibility at ATP and WTA Tour Events
o More local and national PR
o More tools for individual sites to use to promote Cardio Tennis
o A national promotion which we will hopefully announce in the next 30-45 days
