01/04/06 - PHOENIX, AZ – Sixteen-year-old Viktoria Azarenka became the first player from Belarus to be crowned ITF Junior Girls’ World Champion after clinching the top position at the close of 2005. Azarenka accumulated a 50-3 overall win-loss record and captured an astonishing five Grand Slam victories in her standout 2005 season: two singles titles (Australian Open and U.S. Open), and three doubles titles (Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon).
Azarenka joins Donald Young, who also made history with HEAD in 2005 when he became the youngest boy ever to earn the ITF Junior Boys’ World Championship title. Both Azarenka and Young will be honored alongside 2005 ITF World Champions Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters at the World Champions Dinner held during the Roland Garros in Paris, France, in May.

The HEAD Team Elite program was developed to focus on the next generation of top tennis players. It is support by HEAD corporately and implemented in a decentralized manner by incorporating HEAD subsidiaries, HEAD distributors and HEAD retailers.
