06/05/06 - Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Petersburg, Fla. – After several successful years as the Official Publication of the ATP, DEUCE Magazine will follow the lead of other “One Game” initiatives by joining forces with the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour to better serve fans of professional tennis.
DEUCE Magazine will be available immediately following Wimbledon, which concludes on July 9. The new, jointly produced publication is part of the ATP and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour’s One Game initiative that brings the two circuits together for joint activities such as Stars for Stars, the annual awards show held this past March in Miami, and the "Official Guide to Professional Tennis," the joint media guide of both tours. Popular DEUCE features such as “Head2Head,” “Home Court,” “PROfiles” and “Who Do You Love?” will be included in the 2006 edition. Roger Federer, Kim Clijsters, Rafael Nadal, Nadia Petrova and Andy Roddick will be among the tennis stars featured in the 2006 edition.
"DEUCE has been one of the leading tennis publications for the past few years, and we are excited to be joining forces with the ATP to jointly promote professional tennis," said Andrew Walker, the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour's Vice President, Communications. "The popularity of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour and its players will enhance the content of this dynamic magazine, and we look forward to giving readers exclusive access to the Tour's stars in the lead-up to the year's final Grand Slam."
Added David Higdon, ATP Senior VP, Communications: “Incorporating the biggest stars and tournaments of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour into the ultimate tennis insider’s magazine will be a nice boost to DEUCE. We’re also extremely pleased DEUCE will focus on the US Open Series, an ideal platform for promoting the summer circuit created by the United States Tennis Association.”
With a focus on both men’s and women’s players and the tournaments comprising the 2006 US Open Series, DEUCE Magazine will be distributed at all North American ATP and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour tournaments during the summer. The annual, published in partnership with Portland, Oregon-based Skies America International Publishing & Communications, also will be distributed at specialty tennis retailers around the country, select retail shops and available for purchase online at ATPtennis.com and SonyEricssonWTATour.com. A unique complimentary online version of the magazine will be available for fans globally.
The magazine will be available at the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Championships in Newport (July 10-16) along with the following US Open Series tournaments:
July 17: Indianapolis - RCA Championships
