06/27/06 - Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – ATPtennis.com, the official Web site of men’s professional tennis, has launched a new and improved “Doubles Revolution.” The redesigned Web section dedicated exclusively to ATP Doubles can be found at www.ATPtennis.com/doubles.
The new-look Doubles Revolution, first introduced on ATPtennis.com in January as the Doubles Alley, further incorporates the ATP Doubles Revolution’s campaign imagery and themes. The doubles section continues to provide up-to-date news and information while incorporating new features in photo galleries and redesigned team profile pages. Additionally, each doubles story that runs on ATPtennis.com now sports the distinct Doubles Revolution trademark.
“The fun and distinctive elements of the Doubles Revolution on ATPtennis.com will certainly be a treat for our players and fans,” said ATP Doubles Commissioner Gayle David Bradshaw. “With the addition of this resource as well as all of the promotional initiatives that we have implemented in the last year, we are continuing to grow the ATP Doubles Revolution and the game of doubles.”
To commemorate the redesigned doubles Web section, ATPtennis.com also features its first “Revolution Blog” this fortnight. Two-time World No. 1 doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan are tag-teaming to provide a daily account from Wimbledon, which can be read at http://www.atptennis.com/en/blog/bryans.asp. The American twins are pursuing the career Grand Slam and will attempt to become the seventh ATPtennis.com bloggers to win a title (Ivan Ljubicic, James Blake, Jurgen Melzer, Tommy Robredo, Mario Ancic and Rafael Nadal).
“I really like the new section,” said Australian Paul Hanley, who teams with Zimbabwe’s Kevin Ullyett to form the No. 4 team in the Stanford ATP Doubles Race. “It’s great to be able to look at the team together. I love having all the doubles in one place. It’s much more in depth with a lot more info.”
The ATP and strategic partner VML unveiled the ATP Doubles Revolution campaign in Melbourne earlier this year. The campaign features print ads, television commercials and tournament directives designed to celebrate doubles.
The ATP Doubles Revolution was given a boost early in 2006 when Stanford Financial Group signed on as the Official Doubles Partner of the ATP. Stanford inked a three-year agreement making them the title sponsor for both the doubles race and the doubles rankings: Stanford ATP Doubles Race and Stanford ATP Doubles Rankings. In addition, Stanford supports the revitalized doubles game through various new initiatives, including the ATP Doubles Revolution promotional campaign, which will be featured frequently during the upcoming ATP summer tournaments.
