Wilson Names Communication Manager

03/16/06 - Chicago--Wilson Racquet Sports, the No. 1 brand in tennis, has named Melanie McGeough* communications manager for Wilson Racquet Sports. McGeough will be responsible for developing and overseeing Wilson’s public relations and media activities and managing the relationship with Wilson’s public relations agency TeamWorks Media.
“Melanie will be a great addition to the racquet sports team,” Brian Dillman, vice president of global marketing for Wilson Racquet Sports, said. “She brings extensive experience to the position and will be instrumental in communicating Wilson’s brand image throughout the industry.”
McGeough has eight years experience in the public relations industry and was previously a senior account executive at BNC Public Relations in Los Angeles, where she oversaw product launches and special events in their Consumer Marketing and PR Division for clients such as Sony PlayStation and Cadillac. Prior to joining BNC, McGeough was the West Coast PR manager for Feld Entertainment, serving as company spokesperson and managing the publicity activities for national touring productions that included Disney on Ice and Disney Live Theatrical shows.
McGeough graduated with a degree in communications from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and began her career at PMK/HBH Public Relations in Los Angeles where she specialized in managing the personal PR activities for actors and filmmakers. Her past clients have included Debra Messing, Alec Baldwin, Colin Firth and Kate Beckinsale.
McGeough began playing tennis at age six and played competitively throughout high school. She also competed in USTA/Missouri Valley section tournaments for eight years as a junior player, reaching a No. 3 ranking in doubles and No. 12 ranking as a singles player.
