Carlos Boluda Rounds Off Season as Top European U-14 Junior

10/12/06 - Bordentown, N.J. -- Prince prodigy Carlos Boluda, winner of the 2006 European Boys' 14 & under title earlier in the season, cemented his position at the top of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour rankings by clinching the Tennis Europe Junior Masters crown in Reggio Calabria.

One year younger than most of his contemporaries, the 13-year-old from Spain defeated his friend and compatriot Javier Martí 6-4, 6-2 for the Junior Masters title. It was the third time the two had met on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour during the season, with Boluda also coming out on top in the finals of tournaments in Maia and El Prat.

"I am very impressed by the performance Carlos has shown not only during this week but throughout the whole summer," said Helge Capell, Prince Sports Europe Marketing Manager. "Carlos is a year younger than all of his serious contenders and he will finish as the No. 1 player in Europe in the under 14 age group.
