Chatsworth’s Mlynarik Wins Singles Title at USPTA Championships

09/22/06 - Las Vegas – Zbynek Mlynarik of Chatsworth, Calif., claimed the men’s open title at the $30,000 USPTA International Championships Thursday at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.
Mlynarik, the No. 1 seed, earned the championship title by defeating Michael Jessup, the No. 2 seed, from Palo Alto, Calif., 7-5, 6-1.
The championships, open only to USPTA-certified tennis professionals, were played as part of the USPTA’s World Conference on Tennis. The conference is scheduled Sept. 18-23 at the Flamingo Las Vegas. It includes the international championships, more than 35 seminars and courses, a buying show, awards presentation, silent auction of tennis and sports memorabilia and more. It is attended by nearly 1,500 tennis-teaching professionals, industry leaders, manufacturers and media.
