08/16/07 - Tennis Channel, the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis, today announced the appointment of Timothy Russell to vice president of advertising sales, New York.

In this position Russell, who brings 16 years of media industry experience to the network, will be based in New York and develop solid sales strategies as well as sponsorship and merchandising opportunities. Russell comes to Tennis Channel from Turner Broadcasting, CNN Networks, where he worked in various sales capacities for the past 13 years, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. At CNN Russell was instrumental in managing over $80 million of television and digital revenue, while successfully selling numerous cross-platform initiatives. Prior to that, he served as a network buyer at two New York advertising agencies.

Russell earned his bachelor’s in marketing and master’s in business administration from Lehigh University. He resides in Morristown, N.J.
