08/20/07 - Tampa, FL—Tennis Life Magazine continues a trajectory of strategic growth in 2008 by increasing its frequency to nine issues plus a special travel annual, "Tennis Life's Great Tennis Destinations," and launching an international edition of the magazine in the United Kingdom.

"The move to add three more issues, create a stand-alone travel issue and launch the first independent tennis magazine in the U.K. signifies Tennis Life's growth and its support by readers and advertisers," says Publisher Todd Goldman. "This magazine is about bringing the best of tennis to enthusiasts. We've been committed to that since our first issue in 2001."

Increased frequency: The magazine, which has been published six times per year since its founding in 2001, will add three issues and a stand-alone special travel issue. Regular issues will continue to provide readers with exclusive coverage of the competitive game, equipment news, commentary, instruction, fitness and travel by such names as Nick Bollettieri, Vic Braden, and Bud Collins.

New travel annual: "Tennis Life's Great Tennis Destinations," which debuts in May 2008 with a distribution of 50,000, will arm players with details to plan a tennis getaway. Whether they seek instructional clinics, heated competition or pick-up games, this annual issue will be full of lush photographs and resources to help them plan a special tennis escape. In addition to reaching subscribers, "Tennis Life's Great Tennis Destinations" will be distributed through newsstands and book shops, and at tournaments.

New U.K. edition: Tennis Life UK launches with the January/February 2008 issue with a circulation of 25,000 in the U.K. and Ireland. It will carry coverage of the pro game and lifestyle features consistent with the U.S. edition. Special content includes a "U.K. Pro Watch" and "U.K. Junior Watch" so readers can follow the progress of touring players and up-and-comers. Competitive tennis among veteran players in the U.K., Ireland and New Zealand will be featured, as well.

"We are excited to be producing the U.K.'s first independent tennis magazine," says Editor Butch Heffernan, who will lead the magazine out of Watford, England. "Tennis Life UK promises to deliver the best instructional information available anywhere. Our readers will be at the cutting edge of the pro game. They will know from the pros in the locker room what is going on, usually before it happens and why.

"As British tennis faces new challenges—under the leadership off-court of Roger Draper, CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association, and on-court with budding superstar Andy Murray—it is exciting to be involved in the rebirth of British success," Heffernan says. "We are looking forward to joining the Tennis Life international team under the guidance of our experienced and successful U.S. publisher, Todd Goldman."

This announcement of increased frequency and the launch of Tennis Life UK cap a series of recent points of growth for Tennis Life Magazine, including:
• Expanded distribution through agencies and retailers. Through deals with Sports Authority, Gart's Sports and Dick Sporting Goods, Tennis Life is the only tennis magazine available where tennis equipment is sold.
• Increase in circulation to over 130,000
