01/27/07 - Lee Tennis, the producer of Har-Tru clay courts, recently introduced a new surfacing option called ClayTech - a clay court surface that blends the sliding comfort of clay with the simple low maintenance aspects of a hard court. ClayTech’s core component, its membrane, is a proven product and has been used for years in the European tennis market. This proven product has been paired up with the Har-tru clay technology to make the European product even better for both the owner and the player.

Lee Tennis, the sole distributor of ClayTech, a FieldTurf Tarkett product, is making ClayTech available nationwide to contractors, club owners, players and pros.

“ClayTech is another great sliding surface option for all players who want to play for life and a solid match for HarTru,” said John Welborn, director of Lee Tennis. “At Lee Tennis, we are always seeking to provide the latest and best array of surfacing options for those who love the game of tennis.”

“ClayTech’s versatile nature affords its players slide comfort; hence, minimizing the risk for injuries and maximizing health benefits, all-year-round playability and minimal maintenance similar to that of a hard court,” added Welborn.

Resembling the look and feel of a Har-Tru clay court, ClayTech can be easily installed over asphalt or concrete base by placing an adhesive between the base and ClayTech. The product is comprised of a clay top layer and synthetic, polypropylene membrane. Additionally, the lines are painted in place on the perimeter. ClayTech courts come in two colors, red clay and HarTru green.
