03/14/07 - Bordentown, NJ -- In between traveling, practice sessions, tournament appearances and of course sleeping, Shahar Peer is also finding time to check in and chat with her fans. The 20-year-old Israeli recently started her own blog at www.princetennis.com where she is providing fans with insights into her life both on and off the court.

In addition, fans who log on will also have the opportunity reach out to Shahar via email at shahar@princetennis.com, in order to ask her specific questions about her game, workout regimen, equipment, hobbies, or simply raise topics of discussion for her to address from her next tour stop.

Peer, who has been on tour for only two short years, has climbed quickly through the rankings to #16 where she currently sits. Through her blog entries, fans will be able to follow her on an ongoing basis and understand what it takes to compete, and succeed, at tennis’ highest level - and all that comes with it. In addition, fans will get to hear what life away from the court is like for Shahar, who was born in Jerusalem and has served in the Israeli army.

“Every day seems to bring new experiences for me,” says Shahar. “I don’t get a lot of free time, but I love the idea of spending some of it sharing my life, the good and the bad, with fans and other tennis players. I am anxious to hear from people and am excited to help them understand what life as a professional player is really like.”

Peer, who has already won three WTA tour titles, is the highest ranked Israeli player in the history of the game and has jumped nearly 30 spots in recent months.

“I have known Shahar since she was a junior player and am so proud to have her as part of the Prince team,” said Linda Glassel VP of Marketing at Prince “She is one of the most motivated young players I have seen in a long time and has so much to share with tennis fans and young players aspiring to make it on the tour.”

Other Prince team players will join Shahar and offer their thoughts and insights into life on tour in the coming weeks.
