09/18/07 - Tennis Channel, the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis, today announced the appointments of Brian Wild to executive director, on-air creative, and Susie Romano to executive director, ad sales and affiliate marketing.

Since coming to Tennis Channel in March 2007 as a freelancer, Wild has most notably overseen the production of the network’s French Open on-air elements and contributed greatly to the tournament coverage look. As executive director of on-air creative Wild will now oversee the production of all on-air promotions and short form. Before joining Tennis Channel, Wild worked in various capacities at E! Entertainment Television, where he was a segment producer for the network’s 2007 Academy Awards pre-show, Countdown to the Red Carpet, and was a producer/writer on numerous series and specials, including Celebrity Profile and Revealed with Jules Asner. Prior to that, he was a writer/producer for Actuality Productions, and Van Ness Films. Wild earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Michigan.

Romano comes to Tennis Channel as the new executive director of ad sales and affiliate marketing. In this role she is responsible for supervising all marketing initiatives for both the ad sales and affiliate teams. Before coming to Tennis Channel, Romano served as vice president of marketing for Fine Living Network as well as BabyFirstTV. She has also held prior marketing positions with Twentieth Century Fox Filmed Entertainment and the Walt Disney Company. Romano holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the Colorado College, an associate’s degree in culinary arts from the Culinary Institute of America and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

“This is an exciting time for both our network and the marketing department,” said Robyn Miller, senior vice president, marketing, Tennis Channel. “Brian and Susie both bring a wealth of talent and experience to the company, and will prove invaluable as Tennis Channel continues its rapid growth in distribution, ad sales and programming.”

Tennis Channel (www.tennischannel.com) is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis. A hybrid of comprehensive sports, health, fitness, pop culture, entertainment, lifestyle and travel programming, the network is home to every aspect of the wide-ranging, worldwide tennis community. It also has the most concentrated single-sport coverage in television, with telecast rights to Roland-Garros (the French Open), the Australian Open, US Open Series, ATP Masters Series, top-tier Sony Ericsson WTA Tour championship competitions, Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, and Hyundai Hopman Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by eight of the top 10 MSOs and has a national footprint via Echostar’s DISH Network.
