Orlando’s Stejskalova Wins USPTA Women’s Championship

09/20/07 - Wesley Chapel, Fla. – Barbora Stejskalova of Orlando, Fla., is the women’s open division winner of the $30,000 USPTA International Championships, which were played Wednesday at the Saddlebrook Resort Tennis Center in Wesley Chapel, Fla.
Stejskalova earned the championship title by defeating Amy Sun of Big Rapids, Mich., 6-1, 6-3.
The men’s championship match will be played today between No. 1 seed Julien Link of Sarasota, Fla., and No. 2 seed Adrians Zguns of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.
The championships are being played as part of the USPTA’s World Conference on Tennis. The conference is scheduled Sept. 17-22 at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, Fla. It includes the international championships, more than 35 seminars and courses, a buying show, awards presentation, silent auction of tennis and sports memorabilia and more. It is attended by nearly 1,500 tennis-teaching professionals, industry leaders, manufacturers and media.
