Enel Becomes Official Partner of the ATP

04/03/08 - London, United Kingdom–The ATP, governing body for men’s professional tennis, today announced that Enel, Europe’s second largest energy company, has become an official partner of the ATP.
As well as becoming the ATP’s official electricity partner, the three year agreement will include Enel’s sponsorship of eight men’s tournaments. They are the following ATP Tour events: Movistar Open in Viña del Mar, Masters Series Monte Carlo, BNL Internazionali d’Italia in Rome, BCR Open in Bucharest, Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Mutua Madrileña Masters Madrid, and. In addition, Enel will also sponsor the ATP Challenger Tatra Banca Open in Bratislava and, from 2009, will become an official sponsor of the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

As well as sponsoring Italy’s national basketball team, Enel is also an official partner of the 13th World Swimming Championships to be held in Rome in 2009. The partnership with ATP will become part of “Energiaper” - Enel’s brand enrichment programme. Launched in 2005, the programme is aimed at supporting and setting up cultural events, social and environmental activities, educational projects and sporting activities.
Enel is the latest world leading company to become an ATP official partner and joins existing partners Mercedes Benz, South African Airways, Ricoh, Stanford, Indesit, Head, Pacific and Waterford Crystal.
