DecoTurf Serves Up Beijing Olympic Tennis Courts

08/07/08 - Andover, MA – Olympic Tennis is ready to be played on DecoTurf, the most recognized tennis court surface in the world. The courts have recently undergone final inspection and the tennis games are ready to begin in Beijing.

Tennis practice sessions and Olympic match play will take place on 17 DecoTurf courts at the Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Centre from August 10 through August 17. A total of 172 men and women will compete for medals in four events: Men's singles, Women's singles, Women's doubles and Men's doubles.

Last year, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) confirmed the choice of DecoTurf II as the tennis court surface based upon DecoTurf's ability to meet the requirements for the Olympic Games, consistent playing characteristics and the reputation for quality.
