Wilson Racquet Sports on Facebook Gives Fans the Opportunity to Recognize Justine Henin

06/18/08 - Chicago--Wilson, the #1 brand in tennis, is now on Facebook.
To kick off Wilson Racquet Sports on Facebook, Wilson is asking for fans to post their tribute video of Justine Henin on the Wilson Tennis page. On Saturday July 5th, Wimbledon Women’s finals day, a winner for best video will be chosen. The winner will receive a Justine Henin autographed racket.
Recently, Justine Henin announced her retirement from the game and her abrupt departure surprised the tennis world. Henin left the game in style, as the #1 player in the world and an exceptional record that included 493 wins and 7 Grand Slam titles. Wilson and Henin have been together for over 11 years.
“I have been a Wilson girl since juniors and throughout my career. Wilson rackets have carried me through some of the proudest moments of my life, and to that I am grateful,” Henin said.
“Justine is a great champion. This Facebook tribute is a simple way for Wilson to help Justine’s many fans express their appreciation of her achievements,” states Cory Springer, Wilson Racquet Marketing Director.
In upcoming months Wilson will continue to have video blogs, on location photos at our ATP & WTA events and contests. “The goal of our page is to keep Facebook users more informed on our latest products, tour players, and have some fun in the process,” said Tracy Almeda-Singian, Wilson’s Grassroots Manager.
