09/15/08 - With the long-term goal of giving every US tennis player a dynamic and accurate rating based on actual results, Tencap Tennis is introducing tennis clubs and leagues to its revolutionary new software. Using newly developed technologies and improvements to the Tencap Tennis Rating System, that goal may not be far out of reach. Unlike any other rating system on the market, the Tencap Rating System is not only dynamic and accurate, it acts as a handicapping system used to level the playing field between stronger or weaker opponents. This week, Tencap Tennis will officially make its product available to clubs, leagues and high school teams during the USPTA World Conference in La Quinta, California.
“The Tencap Tennis Rating System does not replace the NTRP, but rather enhances it, making it more interactive and precise,” said Steve Timperley, Tencap’s CEO. “We are very excited to introduce tennis clubs and leagues around the country to this exciting new product. After more than 10 years of testing thousands of tennis players on the Tencap Rating System, we have now combined it with our unique and innovative technologies to provide tennis organizers with the ultimate player-management tool. Within the next two months, we will release our free social networking public portal on TencapTennis.com. Like a Facebook for tennis, this platform will allow any tennis player in the world to enter match results, connect with friends, and track match statistics while earning an accurate tennis rating.”
One of Tencap’s current clients, the Major Infiniti Tennis League in Kansas City, has nearly 2,000 players participating in their summer league. Kathy Gates, the director of the Major Infiniti League, has been using the rating system for more than 10 years, and more recently using the Tencap Tennis alpha site to run her entire league. “The rating system and the website have been invaluable tools for our league. We are able to effectively group players of similar abilities to provide much better matches for our participants. Last season, 97 percent of our teams averaged between 35 and 65 percent of games won, which means most matches played had an average set score of 6-3 or better. We have virtually eliminated issues of stacking, and have seen growth in participation year after year. This technology has enabled us to greatly improve customer services while increasing the efficiency of our staff. I credit much of this success to the Tencap Tennis product.”
Tencap Tennis offerings will include an event management system that will allow organizations to arrange, market and track all of their events and results, while automatically adjusting players to their accurate rating level. This will not only help increase participation in all club events, it will also help give players quantitative feedback on their results while more accurately pairing compatible players. “The Tencap Tennis Rating System and software have been invaluable resources for our tennis program,” said Kansas City Country Club Director of Tennis, Helen Wilson. “These ratings allow us to objectively place our members in the correct clinics and leagues, and motivate players to play more matches in the hopes of improving their ratings.”
Tencap is offering three pricing levels for this technology platform. The first includes all the Tencap technologies in an organizational page within the Tencap Tennis domain and will cost tennis clubs around $99 per month. The next two pricing models move these technologies into the club or league’s own website, eliminating the need to send their players to a different site. These pricing models range from $119 to $149 per month depending on the customization required for the new site. High schools can also add their teams to the Tencap Tennis site for only $100 per team per season, a nominal fee for software that will manage all communication, schedules, ladders, ratings, match history, practices and track the statistics and results of players.
With this exciting new technology hitting the market, it looks like tennis players all over the country will soon be asking the same question…What’s Your Tencap? Look for the introduction of Tencap Tennis technologies at your local club or facility. For more information, visit www.TencapTennis.com or call (866) 556-7833.
