Top European Juniors Assemble for Season-Ending Tennis Europe Junior Masters

09/30/08 - CT Orbetello in Italy is set to host the Tennis Europe Junior Masters during the weekend of October 3rd-5th.
First played in 1996, the event is devised to reward the year's best-performing players on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour's 14 and 16 & under circuits. The championships officially bring the season to an end, and feature the eight best-ranked European boys and girls of both age groups.
The line-up for this year’s event once again reflects the ever-increasing diversity of the junior rankings, with players from 17 of Tennis Europe’s 49 member nations due to take part. Russia and the Ukraine lead the way, with four qualifiers apiece, whilst Germany, Croatia, Slovak Republic, Belarus, Romania, Greece and Bulgaria will also send multiple participants.
The field includes #1-ranked European Under 14s Moos Sporken (NED) and Petra Uberalova (SVK), both of whom are looking to add the title to their European Junior Championship wins earlier in the summer.

In the years since its inception, the Junior Masters has showcased the talents of a host of future stars, with top players such as Kim Clijsters, Tommy Robredo and Rafael Nadal amongst the former champions.
