07/02/09 - As Serena, Venus and Roger compete to make tennis history, Wilson Racquet Sports General Manager Jon Muir will make the excursion to London to be in the stands to root them on and support Roger in what could be his historic 15th Grand Slam title. In taking this trip over to Wimbledon, Jon will also begin to give fans added insight into Wilson by sharing his experience through Twitter.

As one of the youngest Senior Executives in the tennis industry worldwide, 39 year old Jon Muir has been with Wilson in various roles for 12 years and has been the Global General Manager for Wilson Racquet Sports since 2006; overseeing the business globally for Wilson Tennis, Squash, Racquetball and Badminton. Muir also currently serves as the President of the Tennis Industry Association (TIA) and serves on the USTA Executive Committee Board.

“In today’s 24/7 world, Twitter is a perfect way for us to share the love we have for what we do at Wilson,” Jon Muir says. “We are in a unique opportunity to share our experiences, both professional and personal, that revolve around sports and this brand. In the months to come, I look forward to sharing my experiences and giving an inside look at Wilson and our position as the Number One Brand in Tennis.”

Jon Muir will start to Tweet tonight as he makes his way over the pond to show Wilson’s support of the Williams’ sisters and Roger Federer in their quest for the Wimbledon title. Jon will continue to post on Twitter in the weeks ahead to share in his experiences, travels and meetings around the world, through to the US Open.
